Being a compulsory internet surfer, I like to browse websites, of all kinds. With just a first look, I can point out certain do not’s about each of the site Web design.
Web design in London is the key task of a professional in today’s ‘Internet bug bitten’ world. Given below is my understanding about certain ‘Definite no’s’ in websites and few suggestions to a Web Designer from an Internet lover.
Hate to Wait - Yes, after the entire search that an individual goes through; one does not want to get stuck at the navigation time the website takes. Internet needs to follow its basic rule ‘A click away’. First request to the web designers of the world is please minimize graphics, flash and scripts as they immensely eat up on one’s file size. My personal computer with low hardware capacity would hate to wait to log on to a website.
Leave my cursor - I recently logged on to a lifestyle website, to check out the latest make-up, and suddenly a link stuck to my cursor. It went all the way with me on the page. I could not get rid of it unless I decided to close the window and refresh my brain with another website. Another thing that pollutes one’s screen is more windows on one. One opens a particular website for a purpose and not to get deviated to other websites, downloads etc. Please note that the reader is smart and knows how it wants what.
I am here to read - Visually appealing fonts, distracting backgrounds make the text hard to read and these are few blunders that a website designer can make. If users could have some control over the font size and font type in all the websites they browse, for easy reading, they would love this feature on the homepage of the website. Most of the time, the set font size is tiny, not readable, especially for elderly people, my father included.
How do I reach you? - Major reason of my regular visit and usage of ‘123greetings.com’ as a child was because the word ‘E cards’ used to pop up innumerable number of times on the website when I would search it through Google. Search is the first and easiest step to reach any website. So, a website needs to carry those key words that it is primarily known for. The website will then appear in the few top websites when searched through various search engines. A little more time spent on naming the website or drafting its content while designing the web will be helpful.
No PDF’s please - Unless you are working with the Government of India, and have the data to save it from unwanted people, who by the way have already read it, I feel, PDF files is a bad idea.
Stuck for information - I visit a website to get information and achieve my goal. I would mark one site in red and would swear by myself not to even look at it if I had to go through other sites to get more information last time during browsing, as that website failed to provide me with sufficient data. Sometime, the web designers ignore to mention the basic information. The worst example of dissatisfying a user is by hiding the price of products or services they offer.

The secret is to recruit as many members as you can, and then start up another business as soon as your current one is running on maintenance mode.
