Even though you have gone to the trouble of creating a website, printing business cards and setting up an office space in your home, if you do not attract any customer, you will not be able to make a profit. When starting a business, you should prepare a short business plan that explains how you plan to build a customer base and how you plan on satisfying their needs.

Every good business needs a steady stream of customers in order to succeed. Before you even decide to go into business for yourself, you should see what your local market needs and then see if there is room for your product on the Internet. If there is a demand for your goods and services, then you should proceed. If not, then you may need to rethink what it is you want to do. Research online careers to see if there are any that interest you. You may find one or two that sound promising. Once you determine there is a market, then you should go to the next step which is to build a website.
